Following the decision to offer the Arrowsmith Programme from Term 2 this year, Seven Oaks School hosted a very well-attended and informative evening on March 13th with visiting Canadian speaker, Howard Eaton.

Howard's address focussed on the rapidly increasing evidence coming from independent neuroscientific research to support direct cognitive learning for students, based on neuroplasticity ... the brain's ability to constantly grow new connections. With over 120 parents and teachers in attendance, it was a great way to learn more about this area of growing knowledge about learning.

Howard Eaton is the Research Director for the Arrowsmith Program and also the Founder/Director of Eaton Educational Group.

Howard has started multiple schools across western North America that use the Arrowsmith Program, and has fostered initiatives at several universities that will investigate neuroplasticity, education and the Arrowsmith Program. He has spoken extensively throughout North America on issues pertaining to specific learning difficulties. He is also the author of Brain School: Stories of Children with Learning Disabilities and Attention Disorders Who Changes Their Lives by Improving Their Cognitive Functioning.

Howard was diagnosed with Dyslexia at the age of six, and has been a lifelong advocate for those with learning differences. He is dedicated to bridging the gap between neuroscience and education.
